Postgame Tier #7: Mega Rayquaza

As I write this, I think: Why am I still writing this? I don't care anymore. I have genuinely started to dislike this game in the postgame. I've always had mixed feelings on Reborn, but it took until my second postgame run and all the damn bureaucracy of rebalancing it to make me go mad. It's a mixture of the sunk cost fallacy, and also wishing to flashbang people with Hayato Asano's music.

Anyway. One more real tier to go.

Battle Pavillion Mewtwo

We might as well get this out of the way now. Talk to the ringmaster, then fight five battles at the Battle Pavillion and you'll have to fight a fake Mewtwo; this is a totally easy battle. After that, it'll... fly(?) away. Talk to the ringmaster again for your next location; but we'll come back to that at a later date.

Rayquaza

Roaming Pokémon has always been a stupid idea and thankfully most of the legendary hunting in this game has avoided it. Well, no more.

Fly to the top of Charous Hall and walk below the statue to find Hardy; you'll be roped into a double battle against the anomaly Rayquaza. Make sure you've levelled up to level 145 already.

After that, it'll fly away. You need to go and catch it; just fly around on the map a bunch and see if you can predict where it'll be. Then get in a wild encounter on the map you find it at (you'll know because it'll have strong winds) and catch it to complete the "quest".

Kyogre and Groudon, Pt 2

Return to Aegir Cave (via Sugiline Cave) and present your Rayquaza to Claudette for a double battle with Titania and Amaria. This one's quite funny because their teams are explicitly designed to kill eachother in the process too.

After that, you'll be put in a double battle with either Titania + Groudon, or Amaria + Kyogre. Spam Astral Barrage for best effect.

With that done, capture the two Pokémon, then return to the island for another Therapy Feelings Talk Exposition Session to complete the quest.
